LEXINGTON, Ky. – UK men’s basketball 2011 signees Anthony Davis, Michael Gilchrist and Marquis Teague were all selected as finalists for the 2011 High School Naismith Award. The five finalists were chosen by leading basketball journalists from around the country who form the national voting academy and identify players and coaches under consideration for these awards. The winners will be recognized by the Atlanta Tipoff Club at its season-ending Naismith Awards Banquet on March 21 in Atlanta. Davis currently ranks as the top overall prospect in the 2011 class according to Scout.com recruiting services. He ranks second according to ESPN Recruiting and sixth according to Rivals.com. Gilchrist ranks third overall according to ESPN Recruiting and Rivals and fourth in Scout’s rankings. Teague ranks second in Rivals, sixth in Scout and eighth in ESPN Recruiting rankings.
