Kentucky offered me a scholarship the night after the Watson Chapel game. Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua and I e-mail a lot — about every other day. We’ll talk about how they’re doing, and how they can get better. He’ll ask how I’m doing. I e-mail Coach Cal [John Calipari, Kentucky's head coach] sometimes, but I mostly call him. All the coaches try to stay in contact with me, but Antigua does more often. Every time I talk to a coach it’ll be a long talk. They always want to talk your ear off. They’ll talk to me, then pass the phone to the other coach, who’ll talk to me, then pass the phone to the other one. They can go on for a long time, but I don’t mind — I love talking to coaches. I’m blessed to be in the position I’m in.
Goodwin was averaging 29 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks per game. The Bears are 16-3 as of Feb. 14.
