Louisville loses Rodney Purvis Commitment: Class of 2012

Rodney Purvis, the No. 10 ranked player in the 2012 class, decommitted from Louisville over the weekend. The decision came as a result of Cardinals former assistant coach Tim Fuller, a North Carolina native like Purvis, taking a position at Missouri.

"It was hard losing [assistant coach] Tim Fuller and then having to focus," Purvis said. "I talked it over with my family and we came to the conclusion that I would open up my recruitment."

Now coach Rick Pitino is going to do everything he can to re-recruit the Super 60 shooting guard this summer, as Purvis takes a spin around the country surveying his options.

"I've heard from a couple of schools already," Purvis said Sunday afternoon.

North Carolina State, Duke, Kentucky, Florida, Baylor and Missouri are expected to enter the fray and recruit Purvis, but Louisville isn't completely out of the picture.
