Cal discusses 500th win and other items at summer camp

OWLING GREEN — Some notes from Herald-Leader writer Jerry Tipton taken at University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari's satellite basketball camp (the first of a series of camps held this month) Monday morning in Bowling Green.
• On whether senior Darius Miller should be concerned about being passed over by the nation's top-rated incoming recruiting class: Calipari lauded Miller saying he had been to an Elite Eight and a Final Four. "He's won 65 or 64 games - we'll have to call the NCAA and check that number."
• On the controversy surrounding UK recognizing his 500th win last season: "I didn't even know I was being recognized that night. Somebody threw me a ball and I said 'what's this all about?' I could care less (about 500 wins). This is a player-first program."
